GIANT TUGBY STORE
Creating a successful retail store is no longer just about displaying products.
The most impactful spaces blend lifestyle, community and performance to create experiences that customers connect with and return to.
Our award-nominated Giant Tugby store is a strong example of this approach in practice. Shortlisted for a Creative Retail Award, the project transformed a traditional bike store into a brand destination that could be adapted across Giant stores throughout the UK.
Here are three key lessons from the project:
Lifestyle brings the brand story to life
Community builds loyalty
Performance creates confidence

Lesson 1: Lifestyle Brings the Brand Story to Life
Great retail design is about more than products it’s about the lifestyle those products represent.
At Giant Tugby, hero bike displays, bold lighting and curated product zones showcase Giant’s performance-led DNA while creating an environment that feels aspirational and approachable for riders of all levels.
A refined material palette and clean finishes help balance premium design with a welcoming atmosphere.

Lesson 2: Community Builds Loyalty
The most successful retail spaces create a sense of belonging.
At Giant Tugby, we introduced a dedicated Rider Info hub alongside relaxed seating areas where cyclists can connect, explore local routes and engage with the Giant team.
By designing around people as well as products, the store becomes more than a showroom it becomes a community hub customers want to return to.

Lesson 3: Performance Creates Confidence
Clear, performance-led retail design helps customers navigate spaces effortlessly.
At Giant Tugby, modular display systems, interchangeable graphics and flexible merchandising fixtures allow the store to adapt quickly while maintaining a strong and consistent brand identity.
The result is a space that feels clean, easy to explore and aligned with Giant’s performance-focused values.

Final Thoughts
The Giant Tugby store shows how lifestyle, community and performance can work together to create a stronger retail experience.
When these elements are considered from the start, retail design becomes more than a backdrop it becomes part of the brand itself.
If you’re planning your next retail environment, we’d love to help create a space that works harder for your brand.
