What Formula E Can Teach Us About the Future of Automotive Brand Experiences

Last week a few of the Whiteroom team headed to Formula E and naturally, we came away looking at more than just the cars and the racing.
What stood out about the experience was that, with Formula E being relatively new, it doesn’t have the same decades of heritage as many other motorsports. This can obviously be a challenge when it comes to recognisability and building a loyal following, but we also think it could have positive aspects too.

Without the same history and traditions to work around, there’s more freedom to question how motorsport could look and feel like today. From the visual identity and fan experience to the technology behind the cars, Formula E has an opportunity to experiment and build something different rather than follow an established formula.

Its focus on electric racing and sustainability naturally feeds into this. But it can go further than the technology itself, influencing how events are designed, how fans interact with the space and how the experience appeals to audiences who may not traditionally follow motorsport.
The future of automotive isn’t just about showcasing the car, but creating a world around the brand that people actually want to experience and be part of.
A great weekend for the team and plenty of inspiration to bring back to the studio!
